Structural Steel Fabrication & Erection
TMG fabricates and self-erects the structural frame as one accountable team. Beams, columns, girders, and connections are detailed, cut, and bolted up under one contract, governed by AISC 303 and AISC 360, with AWS D1.1 certified welders across SC, NC, and GA.
Fabricate + Erect
One team from shop drawing to final connection
TMG carries structural steel from detailing through erection under a single contract. We produce shop drawings for approval, fabricate the frame in-house, sequence deliveries to the erection plan, and self-perform the field work with our own crews. Because one accountable party owns both ends, the fab-to-field handoff never becomes your problem.
Structural steel gates the trades stacked behind it: deck, MEP, envelope, and finishes all wait on the frame. Fabrication and erection are governed by the AISC 303 Code of Standard Practice and AISC 360 specification, and our welders work to AWS D1.1 with qualified procedures. As an AISC Certified Fabricator and Certified Steel Erector, TMG runs a single QA/QC chain from mill certs to plumb-and-align.
- Beams, columns, and girders
- Base plates and connection plates
- Bracing, moment frames, and cross-frames
- Shear tabs, clip angles, and stiffeners
- Shop-applied primer and coatings coordination
- Detailing and shop drawings for approval
- Field bolt-up and torqued connections
- Plumb-and-align of the frame
- Crane picks and rigging plans
- Metal deck support and layout
- Field welding to AWS D1.1
- Survey, punch, and turnover
Why self-perform erection
Does one team erecting its own steel reduce risk?
Yes. When the fabricator and the erector are the same company, fabrication is planned around the crane sequence, field conditions feed straight back into the shop, and there is no trade boundary to litigate when a connection needs adjustment. That is schedule certainty, not just convenience.
Self-perform crews
Our own ironworkers erect the frame, so accountability for the field never leaves the contract that fabricated it. Crane picks, bolt-up, and plumb-and-align are executed by the team that knows the steel.
Governed and certified
AISC 303/360 govern tolerances and standard practice; AWS D1.1 governs the welds. AISC Certified Fabricator plus Certified Steel Erector means the certification covers both halves of the job under one roof.

Deep Foundations · IBC Ch. 18
Steel foundation piles
TMG fabricates steel foundation piles: grouted, cast-in-place displacement steel pipe piles made to order and advanced with low vibration and no spoil. They develop high axial and uplift capacity, install fast in tight-access sites, and give the engineer of record a ductile deep-foundation element under IBC Chapter 18.
Because installation displaces rather than removes soil, there is no excavated spoil to haul off and vibration stays low, which protects adjacent structures and speeds sites where drilled shafts or driven H-piles are impractical. The piles are fabricated from domestic steel and grouted in place, pairing the tensile strength of steel with the compressive support of a cast column. That combination makes them well suited to seismic demand and to soft or variable soils.
Where fabricated steel piles fit
| Application | Why steel piles |
|---|---|
| Data centers | High, concentrated column loads on a schedule-locked site. |
| Solar / renewables | Repetitive high-uplift foundations across large arrays. |
| Light commercial | Fast, low-vibration support where spread footings are costly. |
| Marine & boardwalk | Ductile piles for waterfront and soft, variable soils. |
| Underpinning | Tight-access remediation next to existing structures. |
Steel foundation piles carry the same single-source advantage as the frame above them: the company fabricating your piles is the company erecting your steel. That is one accountable party for the load path from soil to roof. See the data-center market for how deep foundations and structural steel sequence together on schedule-locked work.

Frequently asked
Does TMG self-perform structural steel erection?
Yes. TMG self-performs erection with its own crews rather than subletting it. The same company that details and fabricates the frame bolts it up in the field, which keeps fabrication sequenced to the crane and removes the fabricator-versus-erector finger-pointing that stalls split contracts.
Is TMG an AISC Certified Fabricator and Erector?
Yes. TMG is an AISC Certified Fabricator and a Certified Steel Erector (CSE), and employs AWS D1.1 certified welders working to qualified weld procedures. Fabrication and erection are governed by AISC 303 Code of Standard Practice and AISC 360.
What are fabricated steel foundation piles?
They are grouted, cast-in-place displacement steel pipe piles fabricated to order and driven or advanced with low vibration and no spoil. They develop high axial and uplift capacity, install fast in tight-access sites, and suit data centers, solar, marine work, and underpinning under IBC Chapter 18.
What loads can steel foundation piles carry?
As a category, fabricated steel pipe piles are engineered across a broad working range, roughly 40 to 200 tons depending on soil, pile size, and grout design. Final capacity is set by the geotechnical report and the project engineer of record, then verified in the field.
Are TMG steel piles Buy America friendly?
Our steel foundation piles are made to order from domestic steel, which supports Buy America and Buy American procurement requirements on qualifying projects. Confirm specific program compliance with your project documents and our team during preconstruction.
