We stand the steel up
TMG is a self-performing commercial steel erector. Our ironworker crews set, plumb, bolt, and weld the frame in the field, with crane, rigging, sequencing, and turnover owned in-house. The same team that fabricates your steel installs it, so the field is not a handoff, it is our own craft.

Self-perform erection
A steel erector that also fabricates, not a fabricator that also erects
Most steel subs are a shop that ships to someone else's crew. TMG is built the other way around: a field operation with its own ironworkers, backed by a fabrication shop. We are an AISC Certified Steel Erector, and installing the frame is a discipline we own, not a service we bolt on.
What steel erection covers
What do TMG field crews install?
Steel erection is the field half of a structural package: getting the frame off the truck, into the air, and connected true. Our crews own every step of that install.
- Crane picks and rigging plans
- Setting columns, beams, and girders
- Field bolt-up and torqued connections
- Plumb, level, and align to survey
- Metal deck and detail steel
- Connection field welding to AWS D1.1
Crane and rigging, connection design coordination, certified welders, and the survey control to plumb a frame all sit under one contract. Nothing about the install waits on a second company.
Pairs with in-house structural fabrication and mobile field welding.

How we erect
The erection sequence, planned before crews mobilize
A safe, fast install is a planned one. TMG builds the rigging and pick sequence up front, then sets, connects, and turns the frame over on a controlled curve.
Rigging plans, crane and lift access, pick sequence, and a fall-protection plan built before crews mobilize.
Columns, beams, and girders set to the pick sequence, bolted up, and made stable before the crane releases.
The frame is plumbed, leveled, and aligned to survey so connections and deck land true.
Connections torqued to spec and field welds completed to AWS D1.1 by the same certified crews.
Metal deck and detail steel installed, punch cleared, and the frame turned over ready for the trades behind us.
Certified and safe at height
Why our erection clears prequalification
Steel erection is one of the highest-hazard scopes on any job. TMG treats it as a prequalification gate, not an afterthought. Certified crews, documented safety, and 100% tie-off at height are how we protect your schedule and your site.

Frequently asked
Does TMG self-perform steel erection or subcontract it?
TMG self-performs erection with our own ironworker crews. We are an AISC Certified Steel Erector (CSE), and the team that installs your steel in the field is the same company that fabricated it. That is the core of single-source: no fabricator-to-erector seam for a field problem to fall into.
Who installs the steel, and what does erection actually cover?
Our field crews handle the whole install: crane picks and rigging, setting columns, beams, and girders, field bolt-up and torqued connections, plumbing and aligning the frame to survey, connection field welding to AWS D1.1, and metal deck and detail steel. We erect the frame and hand it over ready for the trades behind us.
Why does one team fabricating and erecting reduce risk?
When a fabricator and a separate erector are two companies, a field fit problem turns into finger-pointing while your schedule slips. Because TMG erects the steel it fabricated, fabrication is built to the erection sequence from day one, tolerances are owned end to end, and one accountable party stands behind the connection.
Is TMG a certified steel erector?
Yes. TMG is an AISC Certified Steel Erector (CSE) in addition to an AISC Certified Fabricator, welds to AWS D1.1, and runs a documented OSHA safety program with fall protection and rigging plans on every shift. Erection is high-hazard work, and the certifications and safety record are what clear owner and GC prequalification.
How does TMG keep erection on a locked schedule?
We sequence fabrication and delivery to the erection plan, so steel arrives just in time and in the order the crane needs it. On schedule-driven work like data centers, that sequencing is what keeps the critical path intact, because the frame gates nearly every trade behind it.
