Capabilities

TMG is a single-source steel subcontractor: we estimate, detail, fabricate, deliver, and erect in-house. CNC plasma cutting, tube and pipe bending, AWS D1.1 welding, and mobile field crews back an AISC Certified Fabricator and Erector across SC, NC, and GA.

CSI 05 · Shop + Field capability

In-house process spine

One team from estimate to erection

The reason TMG can promise schedule certainty is that the whole process lives under one roof. Estimating, detailing, fabrication, delivery, and erection are not five vendors, they are five stages of one accountable team. That continuity is what keeps the fabricate-to-field handoff, the seam most steel schedules slip through, inside a single QA/QC chain.

  1. 01

    Estimating

Take-off, bid-package review, and pricing built by people who will detail and build the job.

  2. 02

    Detailing

Shop and erection drawings coordinated to the erection plan before steel is cut.

  3. 03

    Fabrication

CNC plasma cutting, tube and pipe bending, and AWS D1.1 welding in-house.

  4. 04

    Delivery

Loads sequenced to the field so steel arrives in erection order, not shop order.

  5. 05

    Erection

Self-performed field crews set, plumb, bolt, and weld the frame we fabricated.

Shop & field equipment

The equipment behind the package

TMG self-performs structural steel, stairs and rail, and miscellaneous metals, so the shop is built to cut, bend, and weld all of it, and the field crews and kit are built to erect and fix it on site.

CNC plasma table

Programmed plate and shape cutting for repeatable parts, copes, and connection plates. Cuts up to 2 in. plate.

CNC tube & pipe cutting

Bend-Tech Dragon CNC plasma system copes, notches, miters, and profiles tube and pipe up to full 24 ft lengths, weld-ready.

Tube & pipe bender

Baileigh RDB-125 hydraulic rotary draw bender: curved and ornamental rail to 2.5 in. OD tube / 2 in. sch-40 pipe, bends up to 200 degrees.

Welding rigs

Shop and portable welding to AWS D1.1 procedures across the trades we self-perform.

Ironworker erection crews

Self-perform field crews that set, plumb, bolt, and weld the frame, with rigging and fall-protection plans on every shift.

Cranes, lifts & rigging

Crane and lift access and rigging matched to the pick and coordinated with the erection sequence and the site.

Mobile service trucks

Field-ready trucks and certified crews for on-site fit-up, retrofits, and repairs.

Shop footprint: 20,000 sq ft. Bonding and insurance capacity: up to $20M. Field crew size is provided directly on request for the scope you are bidding.

Materials worked

Carbon steel, stainless, aluminum, and exotics

A single-source shop has to work more than one metal. TMG fabricates carbon steel for the structural and misc-metal scope, stainless for architectural and corrosive-environment work, aluminum where weight and corrosion resistance drive the design, and exotic alloys where the specification calls for them. Working them in-house keeps a mixed-material package with one detailer and one welding-procedure standard.

Carbon steel

Structural shapes, plate, HSS, and pipe for frame and misc metals.

Stainless

Stainless fabrication for architectural, food-grade, and corrosive-environment work.

Aluminum

Aluminum for lightweight and corrosion-sensitive assemblies.

Exotic alloys

Specialty and exotic alloys for demanding service and specification-driven work.

Certifications & credentials

Credentials that clear prequalification

Capability is only useful if it clears the prequal bar. TMG carries the certifications commercial GCs and owners require, and welds to the structural steel code on every job, shop or field.

Why single-source

Capability plus accountability

Plenty of shops can cut and weld. What sets TMG apart is that the same accountable party estimates, details, fabricates, delivers, and erects, so capability never gets stranded across a contract seam. One source for the steel, and one party on the hook for your schedule. See the markets we build it for: data centers, hotels, retail, and commercial and industrial.

FAQ

Capabilities: FAQ

What can TMG fabricate in-house?

TMG runs a CNC plasma cutting table, a Bend-Tech Dragon CNC tube and pipe cutting system, and AWS D1.1 welding rigs, and works carbon steel, stainless, aluminum, and exotic alloys. That covers structural steel, stairs and rail, and the miscellaneous-metals scope in one shop, so a single subcontractor details, cuts, copes, and welds the package rather than farming pieces out.

Does TMG erect what it fabricates?

Yes. TMG is an AISC Certified Fabricator and Certified Steel Erector, so the same team that estimates and fabricates also self-performs erection. The in-house spine runs estimating, detailing, fabrication, delivery, and erection under one roof, which keeps the fabricate-to-field handoff, the point most schedules slip, inside one accountable party.

What welding certifications does TMG hold?

TMG welds to AWS D1.1, the structural steel welding code, using qualified procedures (WPS) and AWS D1.1 certified welders. Shop and field welding follow the same procedure standards, so the quality of a weld does not change between the shop floor and the job site.

What does single-source actually change for a GC?

It collapses accountability. Instead of a fabricator and a separate erector with two contracts, two schedules, and a seam between them, you have one subcontractor who detailed the steel, fabricated it, and hangs it. One QA/QC chain, one party on the critical path, and no finger-pointing when a field fit is questioned.

Can TMG take rush or schedule-recovery fabrication?

Yes. When a trade slips or a part is rejected on the critical path, TMG offers standard and rush fabrication tiers to fabricate to a committed turnaround. Being a single-source shop means the rush part is detailed, cut, and welded by the team that will also set it, without waiting on a second company.
