Safety is our prequalification gate
Before TMG ever prices your steel, we have to pass your safety gate. We build to a documented OSHA program, weld to AWS D1.1, and carry AISC Certified Fabricator and Certified Steel Erector credentials. Safety is not a policy binder for us, it is how we protect your schedule and your site.
Our safety philosophy
Why safety comes before the number
Steel erection is one of the highest-hazard scopes on any commercial job. A single incident does more than harm a worker: it stops the deck, triggers investigation, and puts every trade behind you off schedule. TMG treats safety as the first deliverable, not an afterthought. Crews that go home whole and jobs that stay incident-free are the same thing that keeps your critical path intact.
That is also why safety is a screening gate for the GCs and owners we work with. Prequalification asks a simple question before award: can this subcontractor be trusted on our site? We are built to answer yes with documentation, not adjectives.

Our safety program is written, maintained, and put in front of every crew member. It covers hazard recognition, fall protection, rigging and cranes, hot work, and the coordination steps that keep an erection crew and the trades below them safe on a shared deck.

Safety & prequalification questions
What is TMG’s EMR?
Our experience modification rate sits at the low end of our trade, comfortably within the threshold GCs and owners set at prequalification. We provide the verified figure, our OSHA 300 logs, and our full written safety program inside our prequalification package on request, so your risk team can confirm it against source documents.
Is TMG prequalified to work on my project?
Yes. TMG is licensed and insured across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, bonded for single and aggregate capacity, and carries a documented OSHA safety program. We complete GC and owner prequalification packages and third-party platforms on request.
What welding code do your crews work to?
All structural welding is performed to AWS D1.1 by certified welders working under qualified welding procedure specifications (WPS). Procedure and welder qualification records are available for your QA team.
What certifications back your safety and quality program?
TMG is an AISC Certified Fabricator and AISC Certified Steel Erector (CSE), which audits both our shop quality system and our field erection safety and quality practices. Welders are AWS D1.1 certified.
Are your crews trained for work at heights?
Yes. Ironworkers are trained in fall protection, use 100% tie-off at height, and work under critical-lift and rigging plans. Fall protection, rigging, and toolbox talks are standing parts of every erection shift.
