Self-perform erection

We don't just fabricate it. We stand it up.

TMG's own ironworker crews set, plumb, bolt, and weld the steel we fabricate. Crane, rigging, and sequencing are owned in-house, so the field is our craft, not a handoff. We are an AISC Certified Steel Erector.

The single-source difference

Why one team fabricating and erecting de-risks your job

Splitting fabrication and erection across two companies opens the coordination seam GCs fear most. TMG closes it: we detail, fabricate, deliver, and erect as one accountable party.

TMG · Single-source
  • One contract, one accountable party
  • Fabrication sequenced to the erection plan
  • No fabricator-vs-erector finger-pointing
  • One continuous QA/QC chain
  • Tighter control of the critical path
Fabricator + separate erector
  • Two contracts, two schedules to align
  • A coordination gap at the fab-to-field handoff
  • Blame trades hands when field fits go wrong
  • Two separate quality chains
  • Critical-path risk multiplies

FAQ

Frequently asked

Does TMG both fabricate and erect steel?

Yes. TMG is a single-source commercial steel subcontractor: our own shop fabricates the steel and our own ironworker crews erect and install it in the field. One accountable team owns the package from shop drawing to final connection, so there is no fabricator-to-erector handoff for a problem to fall into.

Is TMG an AISC Certified Steel Erector?

Yes. TMG is both an AISC Certified Fabricator and an AISC Certified Steel Erector (CSE), employs AWS D1.1 certified welders, and runs a documented OSHA safety program. That combination is what clears owner and general-contractor prequalification for structural steel erection.

What steel scopes does TMG self-perform?

TMG self-performs structural steel fabrication and erection, steel foundation piles, miscellaneous metals, stairs and railing, mobile and field welding, and in-house shop fabrication. Awarding these to one subcontractor removes the coordination seams that open when the work is split across trades.

What areas does TMG serve?

TMG is based in Moncks Corner, South Carolina and fabricates and erects commercial steel across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, with a preference for local SC Lowcountry work like the Charleston-area data-center corridor.
